Barton DO 550 Rope Clutch, Triple

A triple rope clutch for cruising and racing yachts. Moulded parts are strong, light, impact-resistant plastics, and the cams and bases are anodised extruded aluminium with a tempered tooth design for maximum grip and minimal slippage while being kind to lines. Stainless steel fairleads at entry and exit protect both clutch and line.

The true clutch mechanism lets lines be pulled through while closed, releases under load positively with little effort, and has a positive handle lock. Removable handle inserts can be swapped for printed inserts to mark each line. Bolt-together construction makes servicing easy, with a full range of spares available.

Fitting notes

• Fit with a fair lead straight through the clutch
• Site about 300mm (1ft) forward of the winch
• Use Barton deck organisers forward of the clutch for alignment
• Always through-bolt with a suitable sealant; drilling template on the packaging
