Sized for specific wire size ranges, each tension gauge allows sailors to repeatedly tune their rigs within ± 5% accuracy—a must for sailors that travel with their boats. Notches in the edge of the gauge confirm wire size to be referenced on a chart on the gauge. The chart helps to establish a baseline tune by providing tension (in pounds) and percentage of breaking strength for each wire size. Pro series gauges will hook onto the wire while tensioning to provide constant feedback to the adjustments you make. I ordered this item from Sendit Sailing. When I ordered it, the order stated it would be delivered in ~5 days, which would be in time for my event for which I needed it. After about a week and a half it had not arrived yet. I contacted the company through their chat window, which is the only way to get ahold of them since they don't answer their phone and do not return voicemails that are left.
The representative on the chat window was extremely rude throughout the conversation going as far as to mock my attempts to contact them to resolve the issue. It turns out they had an inventory issue and failed to contact me to let me know that there would be a couple weeks delay for the order. When I pointed out that they should have informed me that there would be a significant delay, they sent a nasty reply, mocked me, and said they are just going to cancel my order. After sending that rude message, they did not reply to any other message, including my request to not cancel it. Completely unnecessary, rude behavior.
HEAVILY advise to not purchase anything from this unprofessional, immature company.
I ordered my Loos PT-1 Gauge from SendIt Sailing at s great price and it was promptly delivered to me. I am now using it to tune the rigging of my Melges 15. It is very easy to use!
